VIRTUAL EVENT

Foto Féminas is a platform established with the interest in promoting through monthly online features the work of female photographers working in Latin America and the Caribbean. Since 2015, Foto Féminas has organized and produced photo exhibitions in Argentina, China, Guatemala, Peru, Chile and Mexico. In 2016, the platform started Foto Féminas’ library which was created to continue her mission to celebrate and archive the work of female Latin American photographers. The mobile library has been displayed and exhibited at different art institutions and festivals in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore.

Lux et Libera: women at the intersection of light and chemistry is an initiative that seeks to recognize the leading role women have in the fields of film and alternative/historic process photography and create new opportunities for them through exhibitions and community engagement.

Silver Water Collective is a group of ten female photographers from the United States and Canada who are connected in fostering a sense of community that is not bound by region, background, or philosophy, and serve as a springboard for ideas that stimulate and encourage one another in our creative endeavors. The group met in the fall of 2020 virtually while pursuing their MFAs in Photography at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and wanted to connect on a larger scale than being just classmates. Each artist approaches her work with a distinct process and technique that pushes the boundaries of traditional photography. Even though each artist comes from a different background and mindset, the process of photography allows them to express their collective internal struggles as women in modern society. The work spans a variety of material and photographic processes, but it finds commonality as it cross-references between themes in process-based contemporary art. Women in Photography NZ & AU is a group highlighting women & non-binary creators in photo based arts in NZ & AU. Engage. Connect. Collaborate. Debate. Curated by Virginia Woods-Jack.
